Frequently Asked Questions
How much are fibreglass pools?
There is an abundance of factors that can influence how much a fibreglass pool costs. Things such as the size, style, shape and the condition of your backyard will affect the final cost. The best way to get an exact price that is based on your budget and swimming pool needs is by contacting our friendly team to organise a free onsite quote.
Why is fibreglass better than other types of pools?
Fibreglass pools offer several benefits that are unmatched by other pool types. One of them is how quick they are to install, fibreglass pools can be installed in a matter of a week whereas other types such as concrete take far longer with the average build taking 3 to 6 months to complete. Fibreglass pools generally need fewer chemicals and maintenance than other pools as the interior surface is smooth and highly resistant to algae.
What is a fibreglass pool?
A fibreglass pool is a swimming pool that is constructed in a factory using high-grade fibreglass. They come in various colours, shapes and designs.
How is a fibreglass pool made?
Our fibreglass pools are made in a state of the art temperature controlled manufacturing plant. They are built on a mould using many layers of high-quality fibreglass and undergo a 10-point process when manufactured. The layers comprise of an advanced colour technology gel coat, a layer of the highest quality vinyl ester resin, followed by polyester resin, woven roving, structural honeycomb, and then a final layer. Once the layers are placed, it is then cured and removed from the mould. The final step involves trimming off any excess and completing a quality assurance check.
Why should I choose fibreglass over concrete?
Fibreglass pools continue to be the preferred swimming pool choice for several reasons. The installation method is fuss-free and can be completed in as little as 7 days. Concrete is more complex and generally takes around 3 to 6 months to finish which can be an inconvenience for the homeowner. Not only that, because of the extensive labour involved, they are the most expensive pool option on the market. Fibreglass pools require less chemicals and pool care compared to their concrete counterparts. The surface is smooth and virtually algae-resistant whereas concrete is highly porous and this makes the perfect environment for algae to harbour and grow. Concrete pools need to be resurfaced every 10 to 15 years which doesn't come cheap and will set you back around $10,000. Fibreglass doesn't require this costly ongoing upkeep.
What is the lifespan of a fibreglass pool?
We are continuously looking for new and innovative ways to improve our swimming pools which allows us to produce the most technologically advanced swimming pool that money can buy today. When it comes to strength and durability, our fibreglass pools arguably surpass the lifespan of a concrete pool and you can expect your fibreglass pool to last for more than 30 years all while maintaining its vibrant colour and structural integrity. They are engineered to have a slight flex, this allows them to withstand slight earth movements and intense weather conditions.
How long is a fibreglass pool installation?
There are a few things that can slow down the progress of your swimming pool installation. They include factors such as delayed councils approvals, the amount of groundwork needed to prepare the site for installation, and the weather. The good news though, we endeavour to complete your pool on schedule and if everything goes to plan, you could have your swimming pool installed in 7 days. The average timeframe we give people is anywhere from one to three weeks.
